Orchestra

Every Friday, a group of musicians from year 3 up meet with Mrs Farrow for Orchestra. We play along to some songs and just generally have fun. But at the moment we just have year 6 and year 5. We have 2 flutes, including Mrs Goode, one violin, one clarinet, guitar, 2 chime bars and one keyboard.

The Rice Bowl

Two weeks ago on Thursday we went to Whitehall School to play our third match in the Rice Bowl. We gave them a thrashing as we won 9-0! Isaac scored 4 goals Liam scored 3 and Sam W scored two. The goalies on the other hand had barely anything to do. We now progress on in this fascinating tournament to the 4th round of the Rice Bowl (if I'm not mistaken we head into the quarter finals of this tournament). Our next match is on March the 11th.

Touch Typing Club

 TOUCH TYPING

FLECKNEY PRIMARY SCHOOL students of year 6, each get the opportunity to take part in touch typing.
This club teaches pupils how to type with fingers in the right places, not looking at the keyboard and gives them confidence for their future life on a computer!
There are lots of different stages and levels in the touch typing club. Children work at their own pace and to pass each few stages they do a short fun test. I did this and I got a certificate followed by a yummy chocolate coin!
Touch typing is a great club for year 6 pupils!

Touch typing

At touch typing club we put a piece of paper over the keyboard and there are 32 levels to complete. Touch typing is a really helpful skill for life and once you have learnt it you can us it forever. Every 3 levels there is a test so you can practice more on the levels you are stuck on.  You can go at your own pace you are not rushed.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army

One day we were all sat in assembly and we listened to the Salvation Army. They got us involved and Imogen in year 5 was asked to come up to the front and be the conductor. She was asked to wear a big coat and a special hat which had the word conductor written on the front. I personally think they did very well.

The sports clubs !!

As you may know our school is very good at sports and some sports just can't wait to start at Fleckney School. Lots of the sports clubs started on the 1st week back, like mixed and girls football, and lots more! In mixed football there are boys and girls playing on the pitch. The coach of the Y5/Y6 and Y3/Y4 is the wonderful Mr Ager. He also does P.E lessons with most of the classes, as well as  the Y3/Y4 girls, and Mrs Thurman does the Y5/Y6 girls football club.

Cooking club

On January 6th 2016 the new group of lets get cooking started.
On the first week we made a mango and peach smoothie and a berry smoothie, I liked the mango and peach smoothie best because it was more creamy and the berry one was more sour. We also tried lots of different fruit like grapes, mango, pineapple and lots, lots more. If we liked the fruit we could put it in the fruit salad that we made.
On the second week we made scone based pizzas.
My pizza was a scone based pepperoni and cheese (it was absolutely amazing!!)
My family loved it so we all shared it out between us.
I am very excited to make muffins and everything else delicious the we will make. Bring it on!!

Touch Typing

Touch Typing is a club for year 6 pupils. It is a club where you learn how to touch type. I have been going for 2 weeks and already see a difference in my typing. It happens on a Thursday after school and runs from 3:15-4:00. Touch typing is a great skill to learn. It can be very useful and what better way to learn how to touch type than have a giggle with your friends at how bad you are to start off with and looking at how far you have come. Every 3 levels there is a test. You have to type the words on the sheet in under 1 minute. Once you  have completed the test you get a certificate and also a chocolate coin. I'm happy I chose to go to touch typing as I have fun looking at how easy it becomes after you practice.
